Job Description
Inova Staffing is looking for a manufacturing engineer for a direct hire 1st shift position for one of our clients in Mentor, Ohio.This is a salaried position.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and Process Optimization:
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficient production and high-quality output.
- Interpret design intent of 3D models to create drawings of parts and assemblies for manufacture.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Production Support:
- Provide technical support to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure smooth operation of processes.
- Generate shop routings and prepare work instructions as needed for manufacturing steps.
Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the quality assurance team.
Lean Manufacturing:
- Apply lean principles to eliminate waste and optimize production processes.
- Conduct value stream mapping and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Equipment and Tooling:
- Design, specify, and procure manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to support production requirements.
Documentation and Project Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Lead and manage manufacturing projects from concept to completion.
Collaboration and Training:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new products and processes into manufacturing.
- Train and mentor production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree in Engineering/Technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing or a related role.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks software and 3D CAD modeling experience.
- Experience with automation/robotics, and CNC machining.
Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems.
