Job Description
Join a family-owned, ISO-certified precision machining shop specializing in low-volume, tight-tolerance parts for various industries. This role is ideal for someone experienced in setting up and operating 3-axis CNC milling centers, who enjoys detailed work and contributing to a collaborative team environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Setup & Operation: Independently set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines, ensuring parts meet required specifications from the first piece through the production run.
- Monitoring & Adjustment: Monitor machine operation closely, making real-time adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Inspection & Quality Control: Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools; verify parts against blueprints and job travelers.
- Programming & Editing (if applicable): For candidates with programming skills, create or modify CNC programs at the control or with CAM software to support efficient machining.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks including cleaning work areas, lubricating equipment, and changing worn cutting tools.
- Documentation: Record setup sheets, inspection results, and production data accurately.
- Experience: Prior experience setting up and operating 3-axis CNC milling centers; exposure to tight-tolerance, low-volume production preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of CNC controls, tooling, and machining processes for metals and engineered materials.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Measuring Tools: Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision inspection tools.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining precision, quality, and consistency across parts.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining or setup issues independently.
- Safety & Teamwork: Strict adherence to safety protocols; excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
