Inova Staffing is looking to place a direct hire Gage Calibration Manager for one of our clients in Solon, OH.
Position: Gage Calibration Manager
Shift: 1st shift hours: 6am-4:30pm
50 hour work week is standard with opportunity for double time on Saturdays
Job Summary:
The Gage Calibration Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our measurement systems. This position is responsible for performing in-house calibrations, overseeing and managing the calibration database, and coordinating third-party calibrations when necessary. The ideal candidate will work independently to ensure all gages and measurement tools meet precision standards and comply with quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform in-house calibration of measurement tools, including but not limited to micrometers, thread gages, spline gages, and height gages.
  • Maintain and manage the calibration database to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all calibrated equipment.
  • Identify and coordinate with third-party calibration services for tools and equipment requiring external calibration.
  • Conduct regular audits of calibration records and schedules to ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment malfunctions related to gaging tools.
  • Support quality control processes by ensuring measurement tools are properly calibrated and ready for use.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of calibration procedures and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of calibration experience with micrometers, thread gages, spline gages, and height gages.
  • Strong understanding of measurement tools, calibration techniques, and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency with calibration software and database management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent technical training.
  • ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a precision machining environment.
