We're looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who takes pride in running equipment safely, keeping operations moving, and naturally stepping up to help lead a team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on but is ready for the next step in their career. You'll start as a senior operator while working alongside operations leadership, with the opportunity to grow into a Crew Lead role as you learn the operation.If you're the type of operator who notices problems before they become issues, helps coworkers stay productive, and enjoys taking ownership of your work, we'd like to talk with you.
Schedule
  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Occasional Saturday mornings (not every week)

What You'll Do
Heavy Equipment Operation
  • Operate a CAT 950M wheel loader throughout the recycling yard.
  • Direct incoming trucks to the appropriate unloading areas.
  • Move and organize recyclable materials efficiently and safely.
  • Transport commodity containers throughout the facility.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections, fluid checks, and greasing.
Leadership Development
  • Work closely with operations leadership while learning the day-to-day flow of the recycling yard.
  • Help coordinate daily activities with fellow equipment operators.
  • Lead by example through safety, productivity, and communication.
  • Assist with keeping equipment and work areas operating efficiently.
  • Develop into a Crew Lead responsible for helping coordinate a team of heavy equipment operators.
Documentation
  • Complete daily paperwork for incoming and outgoing material.
  • Record commodity types and quantities.
  • Maintain daily operational documentation.
  • Communicate with dispatch using a two-way radio as needed.
EquipmentYou'll work with a modern fleet of CAT equipment including:
  • CAT 950M Wheel Loader
  • Excavators
  • Dozers
  • Compactors
What We're Looking For
Required
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, including wheel loaders.
  • Working knowledge of loaders, excavators, and dozers.
  • Ability to complete daily documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities change throughout the day.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Required equipment certifications/licenses where applicable.
Preferred
  • Recycling, landfill, demolition, construction, or aggregate experience.
  • Experience helping train or mentor other operators.
  • Experience operating grapples and magnets.
  • Previous lead operator or informal leadership experience.
