 Summary:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair of facility systems and manufacturing equipment. Performs electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and other duties as assigned. What You’ll Be Doing: 
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair, making notes and recommendations.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing and production equipment in accordance with established maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues using appropriate tools, manuals, and diagnostic methods.
  • Responds to equipment breakdowns and work with production personnel to restore equipment to safe operating conditions while minimizing downtime.
  • Documents completed maintenance, repairs, inspections, parts used, and follow-up needs in the applicable maintenance records or computerized maintenance management system.
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools. 
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging or drains, replacing drain hoses, etc.)
  • Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Ensures all systems are regularly maintained (e.g., fire and security systems, elevator inspections, etc.). Consults with outside vendors, contractors, and inspectors to ensure these inspections and necessary repairs are done on a regular basis.
  • Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment.
  • Operates all facility powered equipment and maintains a current valid certification.
  • Orders parts and maintains required documents.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. 
 What We’re Looking For: 
  • High school education or equivalent. Industrial Maintenance Degree/Certificate preferred.
  • Two years’ working experience in facility maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry 
  • Ability to use common maintenance tools.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs. throughout the shift. 
  • Reliable transportation and excellent time management 
  • A self-motivated individual who works well in a team 
  • Other training as directed by OSHA or other regulatory agencies or by policy.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
