Machine Setup Technician
Mentor, OH
$17.00+ per hour (based on experience)
1st Shift – 7am-3:30pm - Choice of 4x10s or 5x8s
Our client, a well-established manufacturer in Mentor, OH, is seeking experienced Machine Setup Technicians to join their 1st shift team. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a mechanical mindset who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in maintaining efficient, high-quality production.
Position Summary:
The Machine Setup Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining production machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. You’ll work closely with production operators and maintenance teams to minimize downtime, troubleshoot issues, and maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and adjust machines according to production specifications and job orders.
  • Perform tool changes, alignments, and machine calibrations.
  • Conduct start-up and shut-down procedures.
  • Inspect machinery and finished products for accuracy and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues as they arise.
  • Ensure machines are cleaned, maintained, and running efficiently.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in machine setup or mechanical assembly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, or setup sheets.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and adjustments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Shift Options:
  • 1st Shift: Choose between:
    • 4x10-hour schedule (Monday–Thursday)
    • 5x8-hour schedule (Monday–Friday)
Pay:
  • Starting at $17/hour and up, based on experience.

This position is subject to successfully completing and passing a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.
