Job Description

Inova Staffing is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker / Manual Machinist for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturer of cold-headed fasteners. Their products are used across industries such as automotive, trucking, agriculture, material handling, recreation, and sports equipment.

This role focuses on manual machining and tooling support to keep production running smoothly. Candidates with experience or a desire to learn manual lathes, mills, and presses are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform die repairs and rework as needed
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues that occur during production
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on dies and tooling
  • Support production teams with die setup and adjustments
  • Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to produce precision parts
  • Modify parts and materials to improve production efficiency
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other tools to measure dimensions and tolerances
  • Perform incoming and outgoing inspections on tooling
  • Maintain tool room equipment and ensure proper upkeep
Desired Skills & Background
  • 1-5+ years of tool & die or manual machining experience welcomed
  • Hands-on experience with manual lathes (preferred), manual mills, and presses
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Skilled with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with carbide a plus
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team
  • Effective communicator with good time management skills
