Inova Staffing is looking to hire a Tool & Die Maker for one of our clients in Painesville.
This is a first shift, direct hire position with great benefits.

Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
- Machine dies according to print specifications and modify them to meet as-built requirements.
- File, grind, shim, and adjust components to ensure proper fit and function.
- Fit and assemble parts to create, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, utilizing both machine tools and hand tools.
- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and any defects.
- Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables using hoists, vises, V-blocks, or angle plates.
- Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock for machining using instruments like protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers.
- Set up and operate conventional or CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to shape parts to specified dimensions and finishes.
- Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.
- Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or surface grinders.
- Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan the sequence of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments like calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.
- Design jigs, fixtures, and templates to assist in the fabrication of parts or products.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an approved Tool and Die Maker state apprenticeship program, or demonstrated ability to perform the tasks listed above.
- Proficient in operating all common machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
- Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations, as well as adherence to the company’s Plant Rules and Regulations relevant to the job.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with a high degree of mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work from design prints, sketches, sample parts, and oral instructions.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Possession of basic inspection and machining tools necessary to perform the job effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
